IT Excellence Portfolio
The IT Excellence portfolio establishes OIT as a strategic partner across the university by enhancing IT services, technology infrastructure, and operational processes, fostering data-informed decision-making, and driving innovation to elevate customer experience and support the success of divisions, departments, and units. This portfolio is one component of OF&S's strategic plan.
Specific initiatives are currently in progress include:
iO Evolution
The iO EvolutiOn: User Experience initiative is a change in focus from technical execution to ensuring Rice's administrative system, iO, is effective and serving the campus community's needs. This process is an evolution, and while there are immediate priorities and concerns, this type of continuous improvement work will continue throughout the life of the system.
Service-Oriented Operating Model
The initiative to establish a new service-oriented operating model includes redesign and development of the OIT organization, enhancing service delivery, enabling users, and rethinking IT governance.
